Walmart will be selling Xbox 360 arcade units from Nov. 7 through Nov. 13 for the standard price of $199, but the deal is they are throwing in a $100 egift card with the console. Before you run to the store thinking you are getting a Xbox360 for $100, let me explain something. If you don’t already know, the Xbox360 Arcade unit does not come with a hard drive. You don’t need a hard drive to play games, but if you want to take advantage of the Arcade Market Place, stream movies, or use some of the other features of Xbox Live, a hard drive is required. Adding a hard drive to your console is easy, but the price of the hard drives range from $90 for a 60gb drive to $134 for a 120gb. That’s not to say that their isn’t a deal lying behind this week long promotion. I did a quick price check and if you buy an Arcade unit and use your $100 egift card to buy the 120gb hard drive that’s priced at $134, you are buying the equivalent of the Xbox360 Elite for $65 off retail price. If you were thinking about picking up an Xbox360 this holiday season you might want to check this deal out.
